Job Context
SHEBA MANAB KALLYAN KENDRA (SMKK), a non-profit, non-political, non-governmental humanitarian nexus organization established in January 1996, invites applications from Bangladeshi nationals for the position of Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer who are willing to work based in the Barguna district of Bangladesh.
Position Summary:
The Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer will ensure the systematic tracking, measurement, and reporting of the project's goals and objectives to enhance performance and accountability. This role requires regular field visits to maintain the quality of data collection, analysis, and reporting, while ensuring that M&E activities are gender-sensitive, inclusive, and aligned with the project's objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Implementation of M&E Framework:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive M&E plan, including key performance indicators (KPIs), data collection methodologies, and reporting timelines.
- Design tools and methodologies for data collection, ensuring they are gender-sensitive and inclusive of marginalized groups.
- Ensure alignment of the M&E framework with the project’s objectives, particularly in measuring outcomes related to gender equality, social inclusion, climate resilience, and governance.
- Regularly collect and analyze data from the field to track the project’s progress against set indicators.
- Conduct field visits to monitor the quality of data collection processes, provide feedback to field staff, and troubleshoot any data collection challenges.
- Ensure data accuracy and completeness in all M&E-related reports.
- Prepare and submit high-quality, timely M&E reports, including analysis of progress toward outcomes, to the Project Manager and consortium partners.
- Compile case studies, success stories, and lessons learned for internal use and donor reporting.
- Present data and findings in a clear, concise manner to the project team and stakeholders.
- Provide training and capacity building to project staff and community mobilizers on M&E processes, data collection techniques, and the importance of gender-responsive M&E.
- Conduct workshops and training sessions for field staff on the use of data collection tools and reporting formats.
- Conduct mid-term and final evaluations of the project, ensuring they align with the donor’s and organization’s requirements.
- Facilitate learning sessions to reflect on M&E findings, and provide actionable recommendations for improving project implementation.
- Ensure the incorporation of lessons learned into ongoing and future project strategies.
- Ensure that all M&E processes are compliant with donor and organizational policies.
- Collaborate with the project’s team to ensure accountability mechanisms are in place for beneficiaries, particularly ensuring that vulnerable groups’ voices are heard and their needs are addressed.

Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Monitoring and Evaluation, Statistics, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in designing and implementing M&E systems for development projects, preferably in the fields of climate resilience, gender equality, or social inclusion.
- Experience in data collection, data analysis, and reporting using both quantitative and qualitative methods.
- Experience in conducting field monitoring and evaluation visits and working with marginalized communities is preferred.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of M&E tools and methodologies, including designing logical frameworks, KPIs, and result-based monitoring.
- Proficiency in data analysis software (such as Excel, SPSS, or similar tools).
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams and communities.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with gender-sensitive M&E approaches.
Other Requirements:
- Willingness to travel frequently to project sites in Barguna and Patuakhali Districts.

Salary and benefits:
- Monthly consolidated salary: BDT 35,000.00
- Other benefits: As per project provision
